NOTE: Literoses is now defunct. The blog is being kept live for archive purposes. You can find some of our reviewers elsewhere, though: Erin @ The In-Between Place, Christina @ Fairy Skeletons, and Alyssa @ The Devil Orders Takeout.
Literoses is a book review blog mainly focusing on young adult fiction, although we do cover other genres, such as adult, middle grade, and nonfiction, that might appeal to the young adult reader. In addition to posting them here, we post our reviews on Goodreads and promote them on Twitter.
The name “Literoses” stems from the word literose, meaning “falsely or affectedly literary”.
Say Hello to the Reviewers
The name’s Christina, and I’m an impossibly nerdy reader and aspiring writer. I’m left-handed. I live where the weather is so capricious you’d swear it has free will. I like to make people smile. I take pride in having a plain face. I relish inside jokes a little too much for my own good. Ranting intelligently is the only thing I do that intimidates people.
You can usually find me fangirling over great books or lamenting not-so-great ones. I develop incurable grabby hands for the works of authors like Rae Carson, Marissa Meyer, Laini Taylor, and Leigh Bardugo. When I’m not reading, I’ll probably be sleeping, eating, writing – or going slowly insane.
I’m also found in other corners of the interwebs, which you can get to here.
[Psst! By the way, I’ve done other posts on Literoses that pour more unnecessary information about me upon you! If you’d like to see them, here are the ones I did for Armchair BEA and the Liebster Award.]

Call me Alyssa. I study in a junior high school in Hong Kong, secretly drowning in ink and paper and sometimes Kindle. Reading and writing are my ways to escape the social birdcage into the fantastical realm of the mind. Occasionally, I dabble with bacteria in a lab and blog at randommorbidinsanity.blogspot.com.

Hi All! My name is Ali and I am a bookaholic. If you are thinking that there should be meetings for this, there probably should be! However, I would never want to be cleansed of this addiction. I find my YA cravings change with my mood, or maybe the moon, who really knows. With that being the case I read a wide variety of YA and seem to enjoy most. Some of my favourite authors include, but are not limited to, Sarah Dessen, Roald Dahl, Susane Colasanti, Sue Townsend, Marie Lu, and Jessica Shirvington.
When I’m not reading, you will find me playing with my dogs or watching Disney movies. I have a grand love for children and am a qualified Teacher for Primary-Junior (grades K-6) so you will see in my reviews that I will have extra love for books that appeal to reluctant readers and are easy to recommend to younger YA lovers.

Hi, I’m Angela! I love reading, especially Young Adult. My favorites are usually contemporary or tearjerkers, e.g. books from Katie McGarry, Kasie West, Morgan Matson, and Nina LaCour. I’m also obsessed with Korean dramas, though I rarely have much time to watch because of school. My friends will tell you otherwise, but I’m actually a very boring person. Hence my lack of a bio. 😛 I’m socially awkward and am more likely found reading books than socializing with people.

I’m Erin, a twenty year old animal biology student from Canada. I love books, words, stories and reading – especially when they’re paired with a cup of hot chocolate or tea. Since a professional reader career doesn’t exist (as far as I know) I’m hoping to go through veterinary school in the near future. I’m an unapologetic fangirl for YA fiction, and can also be found blogging at The In-Between Place. When I’m not blogging or reading, I enjoy doing karaoke, playing N64, and having far too many Netflix marathons.
